A Letter from Children's Hospital

Hi Bruce!

I hope all is well with you and your family!  I just wanted to drop you a line to personally thank you for what you did for our patients and patient families at Monday night's Blue's game.  I was the Hospital representative that night and I was thrilled to be there!  Two of the patients had never been to a hockey game before and they told me it was one of the greatest things they had ever done.  They felt incredibly special.  They couldn't believe that someone would go through all of that just for them.  I've included just a couple of the pictures I took that night.

I hope you know how much this kind of outing means for both the patients and their families.  I know that you are an incredibly big hearted person.  I know that from how much you've given to our personal causes as well as your employees and now the community will see that as well.  I'm thrilled that others are experiencing what our family has experienced over the past 8 years with you and your company.

I'm sorry you weren't able to be there to witness the thrilled faces of the kids on Monday.  It really warms your heart.  Maybe they will get to see you at our next date on December 18th.  I will also be the hospital representative that night, so I hope our paths will cross.

Thank you again for all your generosity!  It means the world to me and to these kids!

Happy Holidays!

Is Full-Color the New Standard for Office Documents?

Last week I read an article on why color documents are more effective than black and white ones.   The article was supported with white paper from our friends at Ricoh.  The white paper provides trend information and analysis in regard to color output.   In the end, the information showcases that the power of color is undeniable and its power is particularly well-suited for the printed document.  Here's why -

  • Color enhances communication.
  • Color increases accuracy.
  • Color improves your image.
  • Color sells.

To learn more as to why the demand for color output is rising, download the white paper at http://blogs.zdnet.com/doc/?p=786.

GFI Digital's Managed Print Services

Did you know that 90% of all companies do not know how many printers they have or if they are properly utilizing their print assets?  Consider that companies spend 1-3% of their annual revenues on imaging technology;  that 23% of all IT/help desk calls are printing or copy related; or that annual print volumes are increasing on average of 11%.  With that said, print is often overlooked and is just as important as facilities, telecommunications and IT networks.

The good news . . . businesses are starting to realize the importance associated with getting their output costs under control.  And they’re doing it through Managed Print Services (MPS) – a strategy developed to help manage a company’s total print output – everything from equipment, supplies and service to the overall management of a company’s printer fleet.

So, how do you know if your business should explore a Managed Print Services relationship?  Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Will this truly deliver a return on investment?
  2. Do you know how many printers you have?
  3. Are you properly utilizing your print assets?
  4. Does your print infrastructure support your overall company objectives?
  5. Does downtime cost you?
  6. Do you have more important things to focus on than print?

In closing, if you would like to better understand your document output costs, please contact Mark Kehoe, Vice President of Managed Print Services at 314.997.6300.

Halloween with the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club

On Halloween, GFI Digital enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with children from the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club at the St. Louis Blues hockey game.  Several of the children dressed up in costumes as they enjoyed Halloween cookies, cupcakes and "Trick or Treat" bags filled with candy.  The children also received gift bags filled with autographed Blues merchandise and memorabilia courtesy of the St. Louis Blues 14 Fund - the charitible trust of the Blues organization.
